DC Contactors
Reliable DC Switching Up To 1,500 VDC
Sealed, arc-suppressed contactors engineered for EV charging, battery energy storage and industrial DC power.
We Design. We Build. We Deliver.
Altran Magnetics, LLC designs, builds and ships electronic, electrical and electromechanical components from our facility at 1741 Industrial Drive, Sterling, Illinois. Our teams work directly with OEM design engineers and purchasing groups — reviewing schematics, load profiles, duty cycles and enclosure constraints before a part number is ever quoted.
That engineering-first approach is why buyers in EV infrastructure, battery energy storage, industrial heating, HVAC and outdoor lighting specify Altran DC contactors, EMI filters, solid state relays, motor-blower assemblies and photo controls. We Design. We Build. We Deliver — with documentation, compliance evidence and revision control that survive audits.
Five engineered product families, one accountable manufacturer. Select a platform to review typical ratings, construction detail and target applications.
Hermetically sealed and gas-filled DC contactors that break inductive DC loads without contact welding or sustained arcing. Auxiliary contacts, economizer coil drivers and busbar or stud terminations are configurable per program.
Single-phase, three-phase, medical-grade and DIN rail EMI/RFI filters that suppress conducted common-mode and differential-mode noise so equipment clears emission limits and remains immune to line disturbances.
Zero-cross and random-turn-on SSRs with optical isolation and no moving contacts — ideal where mechanical relays fail early from high cycle counts, vibration or arcing.
Centrifugal blowers, brushless DC motor assemblies and AC motor packages supplied as complete, balanced, tested units — including housings, impellers, leads and connectors to your drawing.
Dusk-to-dawn photo controls with stable turn-on/turn-off set points, surge tolerance and weather-sealed housings — reducing service calls across street lighting, parking and area lighting networks.
Most sourcing problems start with an incomplete specification. Our process closes that gap before tooling, so first articles behave the way your system needs them to.
We review load type, inrush, duty cycle, ambient temperature, altitude, vibration and creepage/clearance needs, then recommend the platform and modifications that fit — including terminations, coil voltage and mounting.
Production runs use documented work instructions, lot traceability and routine in-process inspection. Dielectric withstand, contact resistance, insertion loss and functional checks are performed before packing.
Scheduled releases, safety-stock programs and EDI-friendly ordering keep assembly lines fed. Export documentation, HS classification and country-of-origin statements ship with every international order.
Declarations of conformity, UL file references, RoHS/REACH statements and test reports are issued with samples so your compliance team can approve without chasing suppliers.
Customer-specific part numbers, labelling, packaging and drawing packages are maintained under revision control, protecting your BOM from unannounced changes.
Field failure analysis, cross-reference help for obsolete competitor parts and retrofit recommendations extend the service life of installed equipment.
Each market brings a different failure mode. These are the environments our product families are engineered and tested against.
DC fast-charge cabinets and AC wallboxes rely on sealed DC contactors and input filters to switch high DC bus voltages and pass EMC.
Main disconnect, pre-charge and string-level switching with contactors rated for repeated DC break under load.
Inverter input filtering and DC isolation components for rooftop, commercial and utility-scale installations.
Three-phase and DIN rail SSRs for precise, high-cycle control of heaters, ovens, extruders and dryers.
Blower and motor assemblies plus switching components matched to airflow, noise and duty-cycle targets.
Low-leakage medical-grade EMI filters and quiet motor-blower packages for imaging, respiratory and lab devices.
NEMA photo controls that hold their switching thresholds through surges, heat and years of exposure.
Panel-ready relays, filters and contactors that simplify CE marking and UL panel listings.
Vibration-tolerant DC switching for material handling, electric utility vehicles and auxiliary power systems.
Overseas buyers carry the risk when documentation is thin. Altran Magnetics supplies the technical and regulatory evidence your engineering, quality and customs teams require — on the first shipment, not after escalation.
Purchase through an authorised distributor or a regional representative, and keep a direct line to the engineers who designed the part. Inventory programs, kitting and consolidated shipments are available for recurring build schedules.
Stocking partners hold fast-moving contactors, relays, filters and photo controls for short-lead replenishment and MRO demand.
Territory representatives support design-in activity, sampling and program pricing across the United States.
Export-ready quotations, documentation and logistics support for buyers in Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America.
Straight answers to the questions our engineering team receives most often from international purchasing and design teams.
Our high voltage DC contactor platforms switch loads from 12 VDC up to 1,500 VDC, with continuous current ratings from 10 A to 500 A. Epoxy-sealed and gas-filled arc-suppression constructions are available for EV charging stations, battery energy storage systems, DC fast-charge cabinets and off-grid solar disconnects.
Yes. Product families are built to UL, cUL, CE, CSA and RoHS/REACH requirements, and EMI filters are validated against IEC/EN 61000 and CISPR/FCC Part 15 emission limits. Declarations of conformity, test data and material compliance statements accompany qualification samples.
Custom engineering is a core service. We modify terminations, coil voltages, filter attenuation curves, mounting footprints, wiring harnesses, connectors and labelling, then release the result as a customer-specific part number under documented revision control.
International purchasers order through our appointed distributor and representative network, backed by direct factory engineering support from Sterling, Illinois. Datasheets, dimensional drawings, RoHS documentation and export paperwork are issued in English for every shipment.
Send the original part number plus the electrical rating, coil or control voltage, mounting style and any certification constraints. Our engineers identify the closest Altran platform, flag every dimensional or performance difference, and note what your retrofit drawing must change.
Share your load profile, environment and compliance targets. Our engineering team will identify the right platform — and tell you honestly if a standard part already solves it.
